There is this movie i saw on African magic two nights again tittled 'Out of the ghetto'. Am not usually the film type talk more of the African magic films but what drew my attention is the storyline which depicts the very life of our today,s youth.
Its all about a young girl who came out with a 3rd class in the University of Ibadan where she studied Archeology who dresses like a tomboy.
She lost hope in the ability of her getting a white collar job because according to her, its of no use since her cousin who is a first class graduate in History and International relations its yet to get one.
After much staying at home and driven by the need to save her mothers life, she opted for a drivers job. Everyone was wondering why a girl will take up such a job but she kept mute and ever determined.
Though she faced some challenges like using her Oga's car for cabu-cabu. While in the process, the car was supposedly stolen from her. She felt like killing herself as she is now faced with her Mother's health and the missing Vehicle. Due to fear, she didn't want to face her Oga which resulted to her Oga's wife arresting her. Luck came her way when the supposed thief brought back the car stating that he took the car in other to get a cheque for the job he did and instantly gave her a cheque of Five million Naira.
What am i trying to say here? Sometimes, the question we need to ask ourself is not that can i do it? but will i do it? Most of us are driven by the fact that we are above somethings and forget the need to make a living. Don't see any job as filthy or degrading or not my level ish. Invest your time in something positive and see the beauty and glory in hard-work.
Be positive and our Hustler's Anthem is NEVER GIVE UP. Nice day
